Description

We are currently in the Galaxy season, so, let’s shot galaxies. Amongst all the possibilities, I decided to point my scope to M81 and M82, also known as Bode’s Galaxy and Cigar Galaxy. They are a pair of galaxies located in the constellation, Ursa Major. M81 is a spiral galaxy that lies approximately 11.8 million light-years away, while M82 is an irregular galaxy at roughly the same distance away from Earth.
However, many others are also beautiful so why them? Actually, this part of the Sky present a particular cloud of dust call IFN (Integrated Flux Nebula) that are really challenging to highlight. So I gave a try and I think I did it. Of course, once again, I would like to increase the integration time to have a better signal to noise ratio but the weather is against us (the astrophotographers). Nevertheless, we can see clearly the IFN. Beside, both galaxies are quite well resolved even for a small focal lens (450mm). Additionally, many other galaxies can be seen on the pic such as NGC 3077 on the right side.
