SHO narrowband integration of the Eagle Nebula, also baptized as the Sistine Chapel by one of my followers.
Stars: 30x60s per each R,G,B filter = 90 total mins. Gain 100.
Narrowband: Ha 80x60s, Oiii 120x60s, Sii 60x60s = 260 total mins. Gain 300.
350 mins. total integration time.
Entirely processed in PixInsight.
Long description:
M16: The Eagle Nebula in narrowband SHO false color (Hubble palette), featuring the famous "Pillars of Creation". This image is an integration of three signals: ionized sulfur (red), hydrogen-alpha (green), and double-ionized oxygen (blue), which combination is jaw-dropping as demonstrated by the space telescopes using the same post-processing technique. Stars are captured using RGB natural colors.
This object is located 7 thousand light-years away from us but has been already "wiped out" by a shockwave 6 thousand years ago (discovered by the Spitzer infrared space telescope). However, this structure will be still visible to us for [?] years due to the "slow" speed of light travelling through space. Do the math! It is simple
