Description

Rosette Nebula Caldwell 49 lies in Monoceros, close to Orion. The central open cluster of young stars NGC2244 and the emission nebula lie at a distance of 5,200 light-years from Earth and the nebula measures roughly 130 light years in diameter. Although this is a OSC image, I have separated the Ha and Oiii channels in Siril as this target is often seen shining deep red primarily in the Hydrogen Alpha band. 35 x 180 subs. Thanks to Michal Naczynski for his help in digging deep into Siril.
