Abell 39 is a low surface brightness planetary nebula that lies approximately 6800 ly's from earth and approximately 4600 ly's above the galactic plane. The brightest background galaxy visible through the nebula is PGC 2817010 which is about 1.6 BLy's away.
This image is an LRGB image with OIII added to the blue, green and luminance channels.
