Description

The Pillars of Creation in the Eagle Nebula are towering columns of gas and dust located in a star-forming region. They were famously captured in an image taken by the Hubble Space Telescope in 1995. These pillars are dense and elongated, with the tallest one measuring about four light-years in length. They serve as nurseries for new stars, where the gravitational collapse of the gas and dust can lead to the formation of protostars. The striking visual appearance of the Pillars of Creation has made them an iconic and captivating feature of the Eagle Nebula.

Captured at Taqwa Space Observatory, a privately owned observatory in darkest sky (Bortle class 1) of Balochistan, Pakistan.
