Description

During a full moon in June.. frustrated that my current WIP targets were obscurred too much by the moons light I decided to play around and see how low to the horizon I could image.  Maybe I could steal a southern hemisphere target.   I am in Central Texas, near Austin.  Looking in Stellarium I could see that one of my favorite southern hemisphere targets crested a mere 10°.  So I slewed over, expecting to have it obscured by my fence.  Turns out it clears the fence at 8.5°   It also looked pretty good, despite the moon.  We had a string of clear nights i the forecast and so I decided to make a real go at it.  The results blew me away.. never did I think it would have been possible to capture this target from my backyard.  Now.. what this has done has unlocked a whole host of targets I had previously written off.
