A few hours cloud-free -- enough for taking darks and three hours integration. Actually I was hoping for more details in the M33 galaxy after 3 hours. It seems to be a stubborn spiral and was possibly obstructed by shy veils of humidity. In turn, foreground stars are not outshined by an overexposed core.

Luxurious guiding with a Samyang 135mm and an IMX178 monochrome is working like a charm.

Then, all to the sudden, 100% cloud cover and chances of rain showers. Since sudden unexpected showers are coming more frequently, I have prepared a simple "scope port" which can quicky be moved over the mount and laptop table (Rev B). The other day, I left my setup powered and tracking under a clear sky using the opportunity for taking my dog for a quick pee. It started raining like out of nothing and you could have seen me running faster than my dog. Last year, I lost a laptop to a rain shower. Well, it still had an HDD and was a professional frame dropper.

Thanks to the shield I can leave the setup mounted and cabled while praying for a next clear night, or the next next next? Yesterday at 30°C and 95%RH was unusual for November even for a southerly location.

That vehicle at the right is bragging about being a car but it is, though moving, a rust bucket perfect for storing gear in leak-proof tool boxes containing bags of silicagel. Sorry for this observatory photo so poorly illuminated by a head LED light, but I guess you get a picture and my pain in the neck.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.

Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
