I'm in love with this fascinating region of the night sky. Lots of star forming going on; rich in Ha, Sii and Oiii; beautiful dark dust lanes. How did all this happen? Hope you can enjoy at full resolution.

In this, I combined 4 recent captures and processed in SHO. Even though it is a "pretty" picture in SHO, I feel it was so worth the time and effort. Data captured from Mt Pinos bortle 4, (a bigl star party the last 2 nights! Lots of great folks) Integration time for IC5070 is 5 hours; Cygnus Wall 6 hours; NGC700 6.5 hours; IC5068 is 4.5 hours due to clouds. APP to integrate and then stitch the mosaic, PixInsight to process (a real beast to process) and still learning how to deal with inferior SHO star color; very light Topaz Severe Noise settings: remove noise 5; sharpness 0; recover original detail 5; color noise reduction 5.

Mt Pinos star party included many Dobs with a 32" the biggest, a 17" Planewave, several 6 and 7 inch refractors, and some amazing binoculars. I'll post some pics as revisions when I have time.

Description: 90 degrees rotation. That is the only change. To me looks completely different. I think I like this orientation better as my eyes don't focus on the Pelican.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
