Description

Centaurus A, also known as NGC 5128, is a prominent galaxy in the constellation of Centaurus. It's one of the closest radio galaxies to Earth, being approximately 12 million light-years away. The galaxy's unique and dramatic appearance is characterized by a bright central bulge, dark dust lanes, and a large-scale jet visible in radio and X-ray wavelengths. The dust lanes are a result of a merger between an elliptical galaxy and a spiral galaxy.
