Description

Halfway between the constellations of Cassiopeia and Cepheus, you'll find a magnificent group of celestial objects. We have, the most well-known, the Bubble Nebula, NGC 7635, but also the Lobster Claw Nebula, SH2-157, to its left, then another emission nebula, SH2-161, equally large to its right, not to mention the two smaller ones below, SH2-159 and NGC 7538. We also have two open clusters with the largest one being part of the Messier catalog: M52, the Salt and Pepper Cluster, and finally the smallest: NGC 7510, the Dormouse Cluster at the bottom left, located in the constellation of Cepheus. So, there are no less than 5 nebulae and 2 clusters in a field measuring 3°37 by 2°44 with a 280mm focal length coupled to an APS-C sensor (small format). This image required 45 hours over 5 nights and processing with an SHO palette, meaning the sulfur layer (SII) for red, the hydrogen layer (H-alpha) for green, and the oxygen layer (OIII) for blue.
