Description

Here's the California Nebula from my back yard. It's hard to believe that this beautiful Fall / Winter target wasn't discovered until 1884, and is only a relatively close 1,000 light years from Earth. The nebula gets most of its Hydrogen fluorescence from the nearby energetic star Menkib (seen center near the top of the image).

The Meade 70mm Astrograph perfectly framed this target at 350mm focal length when combined with the Zwo ASI294MCPRO camera.

Specs:

43 x 600" Ha

12 x 1000" Oiii

Each channel calibrated with 35 darks, 35 flats, and 35 dark flat frames.
