Description

An LRGB image of three galaxies in Grus. Clockwise from upper left: NGC7582, NGC7599 and NGC7590.

All three galaxies are spirals and are about 70 million light years away. They are around 11th magnitude.

Deciding to try obtaining data on a southern hemisphere target, I bought some time on Telescope Live, a remote hosting operation. Image acquisition was with a big brother of my own scope, a Planewave CDK24, and as it used the same camera model as mine I was able to do some straight comparisons.

South is up in this image.

Integrations times: Lum 40min, RGB 30 min each.
