Description

Mars two hours after sunset on 25 Jan 2023.

Another hot evening in Canberra, temperature hovered above 20 degrees at the time of this capture (10pm AEDT).  Despite clear skies seeing was once again highly inconsistent.

Sinus Gomer albedo feature is seen setting in the east, its familiar two fingers pointing at the peak of Elysium Mons.  The volcano is just about detectable as a bright dot near the P limb.  Despite shrinking in size since the opposition, The North Polar Cap is still prominent in this image.

Syrtis Minor is approaching the terminator with Nodus Alcyonius and Boreosyrtis in the north.  Syrtis Major is coming into view over the F limb.
