Description

LDN 1082 is a dark nebula in the constellation of Cepheus. It lies some @ 1200 light years away. The dust is illuminated by the stars behind it. For example the bright orange star in the upper right (with the name of Tycho 4247-995-1), is @ 1570 light years away.
