Description

First off, apologies to all the guys I follow on here and who regularly comment and like my images and to who I do likewise, its been too long, but hopefully I'm back in the groove now.

This image was taken last week whilst I was at the Kielder Forest October Star Camp in Northumberland. Internationally recognised dark sky site in a Bortle 3 zone and home to the darkest skies in the whole of England.

An absolute first for me capturing this image and was a complete experiment shooting a single 10 minute exposure using my DSLR and Sigma ultra wide angle 10mm - 20mm lens set at 14mm f 7.1.piggy back mounted onto my rig whilst using PHD2 for tracking.

Absolutely over the moon with result and seriously blown away with the crazy amount of HA my camera picked up. As an added bonus, its even picked up the Eastern Veil Nebula as well!!

A serious challenge to process due to the absolutely insane amount of foreground and background stars my camera picked up.

Kielder Forest is the most amazing dark sky site I've ever had the privilege to view and image in. A truly amazing place and one Ill be returning to in the very near future.

Thank You Kielder xx
