Description

As always this summer fighting for clear skies. We had a few reasonable night and I asked the scheduler to get RGBHO subs on M20 and M8.  Ended up with about 1 hour for each filter for both objects. The RGB was 60s unguided and the Ha&O3 was 300s guided.  It appears I would have probably been better off with 180s Ha subs as the tiny hourglass is clipped.  Applied the same DBE process to the filter channels - one DBE for M8 another for M20.. Made the two RGB images and blended the starless Ha&O3 into each with pixel math.

Did very mild BlurX on both panels and after that applied ABE with 2nd order correction to each. Then assembled the mosaic with  Photomosaic script - big shout out to both the script author and Adan Block for helpful hints of how to best get setup. After panel combination did a Masked stretch and tweaked the stretch for brighter mid tones. Applied very mild NoiseX on the non linear image and a bit of HDMI to compress the bright stuff a bit.

I learned a lot on this one. I was surprised I could do a RGB Mosaic 40 miles north of a city of 2.5 million hot people. I was also quite surprised at the level of detail the ONTC 150mm can capture.  As always thanks so much for looking and I'm always on the lookout for suggestions.
