Description

M63 or the Sunflower Galaxy.

This galaxy lies 27 million light years away in the constellation of Ursa Major. It has interesting far flung stars that extend far beyond the dusty spirals. I personally like the faint star stream that juts out as a hoop to the upper left of the galaxy.

This image was captured entirely at 0.82”/pixel with the sensor cooled to -25 degrees Celsius. It totals 31.74 hours worth of data as follows.

50x10 minute shots through a Luminance filter
36x20 minute shots through an H-Alpha filter
50x5 minute shots through a Red filter
39x5 minute shots through a Green filter
48x5 minute shots through a Blue filter

+ 25 flats, 20 darks, & 20 bias each.

Please critique, I want to get better!
