Description

I decided to spend my whole summer on one widefield mosaic project. Many summer nights in the northeast have poor seeing and only a few hours of full darkness, so I figured this was a good way to maximize the clear nights I get.  I used the Takahashi FS-60CB with the 0.72x reducer, giving me a focal length of 255 mm. It's not as sharp as it should be, since my OAG left me 5 mm from proper backspacing for the reducer.

With the 2600MM, this yields a field of view of 5.4 x 3.6 degrees. I used NINA to set up a 4x5 mosaic, with 15% overlap.  This picture is 18 x 14.5 degrees, capturing everything from Sh2-119 down to the Tulip. I aimed for 90 minutes per panel, per channel.  The whole image totals over 94 hours of exposure time.

There are tons of little nebulae scattered throughout if you zoom in. This image is 80 megapixels, which is 1/4th the actual size.
