Description

This is a H-II region located in Cygnus. Its vicinity to more popular targets like the Crescent (NGC 6888) and other gems in this area may be the reason that this target isn't images that often. I placed the Tulip off center to include that very faint arc of H-alpha to the right (much better seen in the Ha-only-image available via the link below). This is a shock front emerging from Cygnus X-1, the most famous X-ray source in the skies and the first black hole to be confirmed ever. This alone would be worth much more additional imaging time but whether wasn't cooperative this summer.

I tried to bring as much of the starless Halpha into the colored image as possible but I have to admit that the extreme dynamic of this region can only be gathered by the starless image.
