Description

"First Light" with new Player One Uranus-C planetary camera.  Very good seeing at the VIS on Mauna Kea Sunday night, Sept.24, 2023.  C8 without a barlow.   Derotation of 4 120 second video captures (about 30K frames per capture) stacked 3000 frames per capture in AS!3, sharpened in Registax6, derotated in Winjupos and final processing in PS CC 2022.

Revision B is a 150% enlargement of the 1.5x drizzle output from AutoStakkert!3 as I liked a larger final image as I did not use a barlow for this capture.  Just don't look too close as there are some artifacts that I need to track down.

I actually took the time to do a polar alignment at the start of my session.  Typically for planetary I just do a very rough polar align and call it good.  But with the polar alignment, tracking was so good that I was able to center Saturn in a 400x400 ROI on the Uranus-C and made almost 20 minutes of video captures without having to make any adjustments.  I later did 3 hours of captures of Jupiter for an animation and only had to make 3-4 adjustments, albeit for a larger ROI.
