Description

When I first went outside tonight I decided to try and image M33 with my Orion ED80 Refractor.  However
as I was trying different exposures and iso settings I could tell from my test images that I was not going
to get an image that I would be pleased with.  I chose an exposure and iso setting that I thought may work.
As I was taking my light, dark, and bias frames I was looking around at the sky trying to find another target
that might be better suited to imaging with an almost full Moon up.  I chose M2 as a target mainly because
it was about as far away from the Moon as I could get.  As it turned out I did not get an image of M33. It
was fairly close to the Moon and the light gradients caused by the Moon glare ruined the image. I also had
problems with heavy light gradients in my image of M2 but I was able to deal with the gradients.  It's
kind of silly anyway trying to image a deep sky object with a brutal full Moon up.
