Description

The Whirlpool Galaxy is a large spiral galaxy. The distance is about 25 million light years.M 51 has an interacting companion galaxy NGC 5195, which is currently undergoing exceptionally active star formation, presumably caused by tidal interaction with NGC 5195.An extremely massive black hole is hidden in its center.

This picture was captured in my backyard under changing atmospheric conditions. Also, my 384mm Widefield Rig is not optimal for the galaxy season.
