Description

This is just for fun really, the serious mission of the UKMON and Global Meteor Networks of course is to identify and locate potential meteorite falls when they occur.
The image is about 100 degrees wide by 40 deg and obviously points NNE from my location in the UK. It is a stack of all the detected meteors recorded that night by the Raspberry Pi that runs the system using software designed by people much cleverer than I!
The Camera is usually a Sony IMX291 using a 4mm lens, this is a light sensitive camera that can easily pick up Mag 6 stars.
