Description

The Veil Nebula is a Super Nova remanent situated in Cygnus at 2400 light-years from us. It is so wide I had to use a 0.8x focal reducer with my APO ED102CF to fit both East and West part of the veils. The field of view covers 2°40' x 2°10', one could fit 5 full moons in it !
This image was taken using 3 filters Ha (Red), S2 (Green) and O3 (Blue). I took the time to use the 3 filters instead of the usual 2 (Ha & O3) on this object to bring more colors nuances. I spent 5 summer nights to capture it with a lot of lost images. The most difficult part was to keep the framing with the same angle accros the nights. It was also the first time I used a reducer.
Hope you like it!
