Description

Howdy,Lots of high cloud this morning that got progressively thicker during the morning.
I really wanted to try the Lunt 80Tha single stack on the currently very active Sun, so I took what I could get.  Here are 32 minutes of animation using the 174MM & Powermate 2.5X on my AVX Mount with the Hinode Solar Guider. UT 2021/12/20 00:12 to 00:42The 3 active regions are AR2909, AR2908 and AR2807. Exposure was 5ms and gain set at 30 in Sharpcap Pro 4, ASi3, ImPPG & GIMP. Resolution 1280X1024The cloud caused me lots of annoyance, but I really wanted to push the 80mm this morning. I could have gone through and deleted many avi’s that make some parts quite dark because of the lighter clouds as I did with the heavier ones… but to be honest I couldn’t be bothered, it did what I was hoping to achieve.  This was cloud issues are quite different to having the Sun brighten over the course of a much longer animation, which I will soon have a solution to thanks to Warren (Rigel). So, I am happy that I have good platform going in 2022. More 80mm animations to come! Thanks for having a squizz!Merry Christmas to all, and to all a very active Sun in 2022! Peter
