Description

This little jewel has been imaged by a number of the usual suspects on Astrobin.  I was explaining these processing steps to a friend, so I thought I might just as well put them in here and people can comment as they might.  As you can see I am using a LOT of AI and a LOT of GHS.

The goal is to use Bill Blanshan's RGBstars_to_NB_V14 script to add stars to a stretch narrow band image of the nebula.

Pixelmath creates HOO file: HOO_G09_B11 (R=100% Ha G=90% OIII B=110% OIII)

Take Ha FITS header and apply to HOO_G09_B11 to allow plate solve then Spectrophotometric Color Calibration

Clone HOO_G09_B11 and rename Starless_NB

StarX, BlurX and NoiseX Starless_NB

GHS RGB D=7 b=3 preview and zoom around area to be enhanced and set Symmetry Point on dullest spot next to background then apply... adjust these finely as needed

GHS Saturation heighten target color... may have overdone this but I wanted it to "POP"

GHS RGB set SP just to left of histogram (in Log always); move HP from R to L next to SP;  Move D until histogram just gets close to left border (Sets dark point)

GHS one more stretch with SP again at the border of dark light

HDRMT Level 6 looked best

Clone and Rename HOO_G09_B11 Stars_RGB

BlurX and Noise X Stars_RGB

GHS (Same as above... does not always work, but worked this time)

Clone Stars_RGB and rename Starless_RGB

StarX Starless_RGB

Drag Bill Blanshan's RGBstars_to_NB_V14 over Stars_RGB -> Final Image (RGB_NB)
