Description

This was done with an OSC camera and IDAS NBZ dual band filter.  Since both the green and blue channels recorded OIII, I averaged those two into a single channel, and used the red channel for Ha.  I then combined them in an HOO palette, using Jon Rista's method which creates a synthetic green channel from the other two.

The blue arc to the right of the Tulip is the shock wave from the X-ray source Cygnus X-1.  This is thought to be a black hole, which is in a binary systems with one of the bright stars beneath the arc in the image
