Description

I am very facinated by the irregular galaxies from Arp's catalog and love to photograph them.

So after seeing Gary Imm's image of Arp 186 the other day (https://www.astrobin.com/6dxtcr/0/?nc=user), this galaxy was on my list.

Sunday evening, it cleared up over Denmark, however, the seeing was poor, FWHM over 5" and a nasty skyglow was eminent.

Further more, at 55° latitude north, Arp 186 at almost 10° south declination didn't make the task easier. Arp 186 rised around 17:00 CET in the nautical twilight, but I had to wait until 18:15, where Arp 186 was at about 18° altitude and had just cleared the observatory walls. Due to the skyglow, I keep exposure times at 120 seconds.

Guiding wasn't great, probably due to the poor seeing.
