Description

This small HII emission nebulae is located 22,000 light years away in the constellation of Cepheus at a declination of +65 degrees.  It is a magnitude 14.5 nebula which spans 3 arc-minutes in our apparent view.  This corresponds to a diameter of 16 light years.

I like the bright wavy red line of nebulosity which is seen at the bottom right of the nebula.  I am not sure how that line originated.

This is one of many HII objects where was initially misclassified as a PN.

The  smaller, fainter HII region just above Sh2-167 does not appear to be connected to it.
