Description

VdB 152 is a reflection nebula adjacent to a Bok globule in the dark nebula Barnard 175. The small patch of red emission below the blue nebula is Herbig-Haro (HH) 450, a jet emanating from a newly formed star.

There's no resemblance to a wolf or its lair. The nickname apparently comes from Max Wolf who is said to have discovered this complex in 1908.
