Description

Another multi-night integration from my 2022 galaxy season marathon.

This Messier classic is situated very close to the magnitude 2 star Phecda (Gamma UMa), which can be seen in the full field of view.

Part of the flocking material on the inside of my telescope was hanging loose and into the light path when I did my imaging run. I was unaware of it at the time, and luckily the edge of the felt pad did not significantly degrade image quality. It did however cause additional diffraction, and that was very obvious when you look at bright stars such as Gam UMa.
