Description

A small paradigm shift in image processing: It's GREEN!  Actually, I always say that this color should not appear in (at least my) astro images.

So why here? The signal of the nebula structures is beside H-Alpha also very strong in the range of OIII and SII. Rarely the objects shine over all three narrowband bands so intensely that structures are visible in addition to the color information. The Veil Nebula complex is an exception. The color composition follows the classic Hubble scheme and emphasizes all three color lines in equal intensities.

The result is a magnificent color blend that nicely shows how the hydrogen alpha is mixed with the doubly ionized oxygen and the sulfur dioxide.

Hope you enjoy!
