Description

This is one of those nights where I was least interested in going out and shooting something, but I forced myself to do it because monsoon is coming soon which will prevent me from observing the night sky for a few months so I'm on limited time. Needless to say, I'm glad that I did that, as it turned out to be some of the best images of Milky Way that I've been able to produce so far.

Carrying frustrations from previous night caused by high winds and lack of pole star visibility, which aided in my non-interest, was still strong. So I had pretty low expectations, which is why I didn't do a super elaborate setup like always and just put my gear to shoot a Milky Way timelapse. This image is a stack of all frames acquired during this timelapse that didn't have any foreground in them.

Given how good this image turned out, and how good the timelapse turned out, I'm hoping for clear skies coming weekend so that I can shoot the same thing with ultra-wide focal length, which I regret not doing this particular night.
