Description

I finally got back to taking pictures of space after a month of clouds in the Bay. Otherwise known as the Seven Sisters, Pleiades gets its name from Greek mythology, where Pleiades refers to the seven daughters of Pleione.

This picture is also the first after I've done after completely overhauling my workflow. I got the trial version of PixInsight and the RC Astro tools, which I'm really enjoying so far. I also found the scripts developed by Bill Blanshan and Russel Croman to be invaluable in my processing. I figured I would share my current workflow in case others find it useful or if anyone spots ways I can improve it:
  1. Weighted batch preprocessing with 2x drizzle
  2. Dynamic background Extraction
  3. BlurXTerminator ("correct only" checked)
  4. SPCC
  5. BlurXTerminator
  6. Light HistogramStretch
  7. StarXterminator
  8. Generalized Hyperbolic Stretching on starless image
  9. Add stars back to starless image using the `ScreenStars` script
  10. Star reduction script
  11. CurvesTransformation
  12. ColorSaturation
  13. NoiseXTerminator
  14. Final touch-up in Lightroom
