Description

I call this "Night Vision" - this is Astrophotography as art, not science, since this image is a created by combining imagery from disparate locations.
This is a combination of SHO imagery of the Large Magellanic Cloud and Saguaros on a hillside near Roosevelt Lake in Arizona, taken when I was fishing there with my son Joey.
The Saguaros part of this was actually in the daytime but I modified it using Photoshop's Color Lookup, which converts a daytime image to a nightime image.
The LMC imagery was from iTelescope's 20 inch telescope in the southern hemisphere. The stars are in Red Green Blue(RGB) but the nebulosity imagery is using narrowband Sulphur, Hydrogen, and Oxygen filters (SHO), which tends to give the greenish-blue tint to the photo.
