Description

I've been enjoying a run of clear nights, continuing to experiment with my new Star Adventurer mount - so many different configurations I'm starting to go batty. NGC 6992 makes a fine narrowband target for our still bright summer skies, but astro darkness is slowly returning, with nautical darkness for nearly 4.5 hours. I am now so confident with the simplicity of this mount, that I even went to bed for a few hours!

Same old processing in Startools, with star reduction and using the superstructure module to push back the starfield, with final noise reduction. Revision B (mouseover) is the same data processed in Nebulosity using levels and curves, star and noise reduction. I pushed this a bit too hard, but like the clean, sharp lines, even if the background is noisy. The Startools version may not look quite so sharp but has greater depth and saturation IMHO. Anyway I'm always interested in your feedback and comments.

[postscript - I have to say I’m really impressed with APP. Both for pre- and post-processing. My only gripe there is no manual, but useful tooltips and a very helpful third party guideproduced by Charles Bracken, and several video tutorials].
