Description

In addition to Bode's Galaxy, I also wanted to show the strongly present galactic cirrus and how it's distributed around this great Messier object.

A long integration time for the luminance exposures and a dark sky is of course key here. The cirrus also worked out quite well. During image processing and for the coloring I decided not to increase the color saturation too much and to emphasize the blue in the spiral arms only very slightly. Nevertheless, the dwarf galaxy Holmberg IX (UGC 5336) should not become too faint with its colors.

In sum, a certain balancing act for image processing, which I think succeeded quite well. The dust bands of the cirrus present themselves very harmoniously next to the foothills of M81.
