Description

SH2-290 is one of the last narrowband objects in the night sky that one can image during this time of year. I imaged this after the Christmas Tree Cluster. When it was setting I pointed my scope to SH2-290. In addition I dedicated one full night to image this object.

The nebula is quite faint. During imaging I could not see it on screen. I was able to identify it only after I stacked all frames.

I am somewhat happy with the result. Yes, the planetary nebula can be identified but I was hoping for more details. As a drawback to my result I am counting the full Moon during imaging and the 2 minutes subs that I used.

I feel that I want to image this object more and hopefully with longer subs and hopefully with even better result

CS,
Ivan
