Description

The most important thing in trying to operate a Tak E series scope is the focus.   This image is not quite there.   After three years I have finally been able to collimate it and somewhat adjust for tilt. The ASI 294 is being operated in native un-binned mode which makes things more difficult.  What I found was that what I thought was collimation and tilt was not quite collimation and tilt.  Instead, most of the issue was focus.  If you are not spot on with a hyperbolic Newtonian reflector your images are going to look like crap with different optical aberrations.  The issue is compounded by the camera which has 2.45 micron pixels.  If you can get a clean image with this combination you can probably tweak just about any rig available today.   Very difficult scope to operate and coupled with a super small pixel camera, almost impossible.  However, after some persistence, I am getting closer.  The next image will be with full attention placed on focusing and hopefully it will be even better.

There are quite a few fuzzies in the background which are distant galaxies and are very faint.  I went after these with the longer exposure, but the resolution is not quite there.  I bet my Stowaway can do a better job on these items, or ultimately when I conquer the focusing and final tilt and collimation adjustments I will be able to better resolve these un-named glaxies.
