Revisiting this target after switching from OSC DSLR imaging to narrowband. Still getting the hang of combining monochrome images into an RGB image. I think I have a habit of over-stretching the OIII channel and making things a bit bluer than they should be. This was also my first acquisition with NINA, which worked wonderfully the first night, but ran into issues with PHD2 guiding the second night. Turns out I had a bad calibration due to changing the guide speed settings at the wrong point in the calibration process. Luckily data for this target was unaffected, but data for the other targets I had that night are unusable due to the resulting guiding behavior. I don't think I even need guiding, to be honest, with my measured polar alignment within 1-2 arcseconds. At least, not at this focal length (~450mm). But, once the clouds roll away, I'll try recalibrating PHD2 with the proper guide speed settings and see how that goes. Overall, NINA has been great, though, and MUCH more stable than KSTARs. No crashes, and overall more responsive. Anyways, please enjoy the image. I'm looking forward to getting a field flattener and auto-focusing motor soon.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
