Description

A medium wide field exposure of M103 and surrounding area.

(M103,NGC581) is an open cluster and was discovered in 1781 by Pierre Mechain.

It's distance is calculated to be ~10 light years away and represents one of the most distant open clusters.. Its visual Brightness is 7.4.

The bright star in the upper left is Ruchbah or 37 Cas with a magnitude of 2.65.

What surprised me is the faint nebulosity in this area.
