Description

Rummaging into the deepest recesses of my HDDs I recovered this (not so) little set of shots, wrongly labelled. Turned out to be my first attempt at wide field mosaicking, soon lost from my attention. The final field is rather, for my standards anyway, huge, spanning around 32 degrees in RA and 17 in Dec, so a rather large chunk of central-southern Milky Way roughly centred around M16. The more eagled might notice also M17 as well as M24 and few other gems barely poking their heads above the stars' "noise", in a manner of speaking.
