Description

Stargazing during the epidemic is also a very special experience. Due to the influence of the strong cold air, the cloud cover was extremely low and the atmospheric transparency was good this night, and it was almost the crescent moon, so I dragged out the equipment that had accumulated dust for several months and went to Chongming. It took only an hour for my dad to drive to Chongming, so I excitedly started to set up the telescope at nine o’clock, and I told myself that I would be able to shoot narrow-band today.

However, at 1am I was still struggling with polar alignment I tried iterative calibration, drive method, star pointer, but I still could not figure out why the telescope is pointing at the ground when I tell it to point at Sirius. After four hours wasted on polar alignment, I suddenly realized that I set the zero position in reverse emmmm

The subsequent exposure (well, only half an hour was left after dealing with various other errors) was basically smooth, but I accidentally kicked the tripod, which caused the polar axis to be skewed again, so the resulting picture was a bit dragged. When it was dawn, I found that all my equipment was frosted, and there was a thin layer on the lens, and then I realized why I could not get to the focal point all the time...

Thank you very much dad! Every time he goes out to shoot stars, he has to drive, and he has to wait in the car all night. In summer there are mosquitoes, in winter it is often cold to the bones.
