Despite the brief timeframe and a less promising forecast ahead, I couldn't wait to share this beautifully edited image of this Lobster Claw Nebula (SH2-157) dancing with The Bubble Nebula (NGC 7635)
But let me take you behind the scenes! Before this, I took on the challenge of unveiling the secrets of the Flying Bat (Sh2-12) and Squid Nebula (OU4) for a whopping 35 hours. 🦇🦑 Next, a 2-panel mosaic featuring the Rotten Fish (LDN 1251) and Dark Shark Nebula (LDN 1235)) consumed 20 hours per panel and 40 hours in total. Unfortunately, all these targets were interrupted by fickle weather.
Lessons learned: Dual narrowband filters excel only with Oiii-rich targets. Using them on low Oiii targets, even with more integration not bring any value adds.
