Description

Summer astro hibernation is over, and as every year, it seems that I do need an extra kick to get me going again. Well, at least there were several clear nights, even when the moon was not shining (!), so I could get some data together, which was actually a lot of fun (and also frustrating, since guiding was super awful a lot of times, seeing I assume). The next step (processing) is harder to get used to again, sitting a lot of days all day in front of a computer is not necessarily an evening motivation to do more of this. And processing images is a "bit" repetitive, becoming over the years a bit boring, totally honest here (let me know if you feel the same, that might help me to cheer up again: split pain, half the pain (German expression)).

The data for this target were not the best, and by far not enough, still, wanted to get at least an image out of it, and it shows. This one needs way more OIII data, they were actually incredibly faint, was a bit surprised by that, maybe the overall sky conditions played a role. And I am a bit late to the Halloween party with those ghosts.

The next image will have a lot more integration time, this was indeed just a filler session until my main targets were visible above the tree line.

Carpe noctem!!
