Visible à l'œil nu depuis l'hémisphère sud, elle s'étend sur 300 années-lumière et se trouve à environ 7 500 - 8 500 années-lumière de la Terre. Cette région active de formation stellaire abrite l'étoile massive Eta Carinae, connue pour ses éruptions spectaculaires. La nébuleuse de la Carène est un objet d'étude crucial pour comprendre la naissance et l'évolution des étoiles massives.NGC 3372 est un des terrains de jeu préférés des astronomes pour étudier la naissance et l'évolution des étoiles massives. Visible to the naked eye from the southern hemisphere, it spans 300 light-years and is situated approximately 7,500 - 8,500 light-years from Earth. This active star-forming region is home to the massive star Eta Carinae, known for its spectacular eruptions. The Carina Nebula is a crucial object of study for understanding the birth and evolution of massive stars.NGC 3372 is one of the favorite playgrounds for astronomers to study the birth and evolution of massive stars.
