Description

A few clear nights let me train my new rig on an old friend: M42.  The Orion Nebula was the first thing I ever pointed a camera and telescope at in the night sky, so it is fun to see how far I've come.  I was very pleased to see the GHS was able to maintain some detail in the core, and (importantly) reveal the trapezium.  I've fully embraced the RC Astro suite of tools, as well as GraXpert's AI-powered background extraction (it's free and great!).  Although, I found that StarXterminator did not do a great job on either the linear nor the non-linear masters, so I stretched the stars and nebula as one, like in the good old days.  However, GHS, as previously mentioned, did such a good job, and I was very pleased with the both the stars and the nebula without having to process them separately.

Description: Another rendering in HSO. I like the colors better, even though the SHO hues show more detail.
