Cone nebula NGC 2264 - L-HSO
-> 2700 LY, <-> 4 LY - The conical shape comes from a cold nebula, composed mostly of molecular hydrogen, which absorbs dust from a low emission nebula, which contains molecular hydrogen ionized by S Monocerotos, the brightest star in NGC 2264. (wiki)

Tak FSQ-85 and FSQ-106, ZWO 6200 et 2600 (-10deg, gain 100), stacked in Pixinsight.

The presence of OIII gives a mystical form to this magnificent nebula.
