Description

Found about these galaxies last evening and thought would give it a go early this morning. The NGC4038 & NGC4039 are two spiral galaxies which have collided, called the Antennae galaxies. In the details there is entrapped dust and gas funneled into the centre of the galaxies. The cores of the galaxies are the orange centers, left and right of image center. Apparently, new stars are forming from the collision ie. the bluish/magenta in the center. Different references put these galaxies at 45 to 65+ million light years.

Below this is the NGC4027 at 87 million light years is a barred spiral galaxy.
