Description

The Tadpoles:  10,000 light-years from Earth, within the constellation of Auriga, the Charioteer, swims the dusty, glowing emission nebula known as IC410.   Nicknamed the Tadpoles, for the two 'wiggling' star forming regions just to the lower left of center, the nebula is powered by the cluster of hot, young stars at the nebula's core.

This image holds particular significance for me, because it represents the completion of a personal goal: this is the first image captured entirely remotely, operating our observatory in Mariposa, California from Chino Hills, over 300 miles away.

Equipment and processing used: Celestron RASA-11 telescope with ZWO ASI294 MC Pro one shot color camera riding on an iOptron CEM120-EC2 mount.  N.I.N.A./PHD2 used for image acquisition.  85 individual five minute exposures (over seven hours of data), captured remotely on the night of November 21, 2022.   Processed using PixInsight.
